June/July Happenings

Barry and I decided to walk entire Canyon Rim trail. We got up super early on a Saturday and walked and walked and walked. It was beautiful and a fun challenge.
 Filer Fun Day's Parade

Father's Day fun in primary. Barry wasn't one of them because he was teaching Sunday School, but it was a fun time

One Sunday we drove to the old Japanese Internment camp near Jerome. It was very interesting to learn and read about the history of the area
 Zebra Stripes disaster.
 Emma's kindergarten immunizations. She's ready!

 Covered the stripes.

Jeana and Cary's family came for the fourth of July festivities. We went on a hike, picked yummy cherries, made some pies, went swimming and had fun!

Barry had Jury duty for the month of June, he didn't end up being selected, but I was also summoned for Jury duty for the month of July and did end up being selected. It was an interesting experience. Barry watched the kids while I was gone, and worked on the barn. Ellie got to go to Girl's camp. They went to Twin Falls, staying in a hotel, shopped at the DI, went kayaking, hiking, and went to the temple. (sorry I have no pictures)

 Ellie's Harry Potter creations. Quidditch!

Doing some family history and found my fourth great grandfather, Lars Larsen, settled by where we live. I was excited to have family in Idaho. This is he house he had built right before he died. He passed away in this home in 1905. The home is located at 3052 north 3800 East, Hansen, Idaho. There is a private cemetery located behind the house, just over the canal on a little hill. It is sadly not being kept well. There is lots of family history that can be learned about at the Stricker Historical Site located near there.

Our Square foot garden experiment now.
